As our founding term comes to a close, I have taken time to reflect on just how extraordinary these past months have been. Opening a new school is never simple, yet from the very beginning, the spirit of Rushmore American School has been something truly special.
From the moment we welcomed our first families and staff, there has been a clear sense of connection, purpose, and possibility. Each day has reinforced why founding a school is one of the most meaningful journeys an educator can take. What we are building together goes far beyond classrooms and timetables. It is about community, values, and belief in what education can and should be.
Our first term has been defined by many special moments. A founding induction that united our staff around shared values, high standards, and a collective vision for what Rushmore can become. Memorable firsts that will stay with us always, including our opening ceremony, first assemblies, community events, and parent engagement mornings. A culture of warmth, curiosity, and ambition that has taken root from Pre KG through to Grade 7. Students demonstrating creativity, confidence, and kindness in ways that already define who we are becoming as a school. Families who have trusted us, partnered with us, and helped build something new from the ground up.
To our staff, thank you. Your resilience, dedication, and commitment have laid the foundation for excellence. You have embraced challenge with positivity, supported one another, and modelled the values we want every Rushmore student to grow up with.
To our families, thank you for believing in us from day one. Your trust, feedback, and engagement have shaped our early success and strengthened our sense of community.
To our students, you are the heart of Rushmore. Every smile, question, achievement, and act of kindness reminds us why we do what we do. You inspire every decision we make and every aspiration we hold for the future of this school.
This is only the beginning.
Our founding year will continue to be filled with growth, opportunity, and defining moments. As we look ahead to Term 2, we are excited to see our facilities fully open, the launch of a new KG2 class, the expansion of ECAs, and our culture continuing to flourish.
