Achievement Program
Rushmore American School is an educationally inclusive school that values each child as a unique individual and we work hard to meet the needs of all our children.
We provide a happy, healthy and safe school by providing high quality pastoral care, support and guidance by listening to the concerns of children and parents. We want all of our students to feel valued, secure and to be given opportunities to learn by providing a differentiated curriculum that caters for the needs of all students. We aim to ensure that all students have access to all of the school's resources and that they have the opportunity to experience success, are treated fairly and that their individual needs are met.

Students with Special Educational Needs
Rushmore American School recognises that we have a duty to provide appropriate SEN provision for children and young people in order to meet their needs. It is also our duty to make reasonable adjustments for disabled children and young people, to support medical conditions and to inform parents and young people if SEN provision is made for them. When organising additional support it is very important that we provide children with special educational needs a broad and balanced curriculum with regular access to all subjects and areas of learning. We believe that children with SEN should not be routinely segregated from their class teachers and peers but included as much as possible within their class.

Students with Disabilities
Every student deserves an equal opportunity to learn and succeed, regardless of their abilities or disabilities. Rushmore American School provides effective support for disabled students to ensure they have access to the same quality education as their peers. We ensure that facilities are accessible to disabled students. This can involve modifying classrooms to accommodate students with mobility impairments. We promote inclusive classrooms where disabled students are integrated into regular classrooms with their peers. This helps disabled students develop social skills and form relationships with their classmates. Classroom teachers are trained to support disabled students and encourage their participation in classroom activities.

Students with Talent
We recognise that within the school we have academically more able, gifted and talented children. We work effectively with parents in order for students to fulfil their potential in their academic, physical and creative achievements. We offer our talented students a variety of differentiated curricular activities; higher order questioning; additional support; access to in or out of school extra-curricular/enrichment activities; and the chance to further develop their talents with links to appropriate community groups.
